Wookie

The Wookie was inspired, of course, by one of the favorite Star Wars characters, Chewbacca. This is sort of like Chewbacca's cousin. He has black and grey colorings, including black on the head, lower arms, lower legs, and feet. Being a mask artist really helped, as this was a first attempt at a full head mask. It turned out really great, with lots of fake hair and color variations, making him a first class Wookie. This has been described as an epic costume.
Shown here parading through the Castro in San Francisco on Halloween night, as part of a neighborhood parade, the wookie was banging on drums at the center of the parade while people on the street yelled "Chewbacca!" and threw candy and other offerings.
